The year of Becoming

My dearest Lyss,

One of the greatest joys of parenting is watching your child come into their own.

We birth you, protect you, teach you, nurture your strengths, monitor your perceived weaknesses and then reach a point where we have to trust the God that gifted us with you and allow you to spread your wings and fly.

I believe that year 15, for you, is the year of becoming. You become the bowling ball, we set you on the path towards a strike, then we become the bumpers that won’t allow you to fall into the gutter, but now allow you to begin to navigate your own path, become familiar with your own intuition, develop your own gift of discernment and set your own boundaries.

TRY. FAIL. RECOVER. REPEAT.

This is your strategy to ‘BECOME.’ Begin your journey with full awareness that trying often times pairs perfectly with failing. Realize that each time you fail, you’re not alone. Failure is your opportunity learn, lean and glean while you recover and prepare to try again. Each time you fall, you rise stronger and wiser, and every time you try again, you are one step closer to the woman of grace, purpose, and influence that God has ordained, carefully crafted and called you to be.

Soar Lyss SOAR … the only limitations for you, are the ones you put in place! We love and believe in you sweet girl!!!

Proud of who you’ve been, who you are now, and very much looking forward to the woman you’ll become.

Love,

Mommy, Daddy, and the hosts of others that stand in your corner and make up your village!

Love You .. Happy 15th Birthday little one!!!
